Online Donation Policy

Last Updated: June 16, 2026

Conservation Centers for Species Survival ("C2S2") is grateful for every gift. To ensure that your contribution has the greatest possible impact for the wildlife we protect, please review this Online Donation Policy before completing your donation. By submitting a donation through conservationcenters.org or any related online donation portal operated by C2S2, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Policy.

General Operating Support with Donor Preference

All donations made through C2S2's website and online donation portals are accepted as general operating contributions to Conservation Centers for Species Survival, accompanied by a non-binding donor preference for any program, species, initiative, or area you indicate on the donation form. Your stated preference helps C2S2 understand donor priorities and is given good-faith consideration when funds are allocated.

Allocation to the Area of Greatest Need

In accordance with C2S2's gift acceptance policy and applicable Texas law, including the Texas Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act, Tex. Prop. Code § 163.001 et seq., the C2S2 Board of Directors retains the right, in its sole and reasonable judgment, to allocate any online donation to the area of C2S2's greatest need when:

  1. the designated program, species, or initiative no longer exists, has been discontinued, or has been materially modified;

  2. the designated program has received sufficient funding for its current operational needs;

  3. the donated funds cannot, for any reason, be used for the designated purpose; or

  4. the Board determines, in its prudent judgment, that allocating the funds to a different area of need would better serve C2S2's overall charitable mission.

Acknowledgment

By submitting a donation through the C2S2 website or any online donation portal operated by C2S2, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy, you agree to its terms, and you authorize C2S2 to apply your donation in accordance with this Policy. Any designation, preference, or note you provide on the donation form is a non-binding expression of donor intent and not a legally restricted gift.

Legally Restricted Gifts

Nothing in this Policy is intended to prevent a donor from making a legally restricted gift to C2S2. Donors who wish to designate a gift for a specific program, species, or purpose in a manner that legally binds C2S2's use of the funds may do so by contacting C2S2 at hello@conservationcenters.org to discuss a separate written gift agreement. A gift agreement signed by an authorized officer of C2S2 will govern the use of that gift notwithstanding this Policy.

Refunds

Donations are generally non-refundable. C2S2 will, however, consider refund requests in good faith on a case-by-case basis for circumstances including duplicate or mistaken transactions, unauthorized recurring charges, and similar errors. To request a refund, contact us at hello@conservationcenters.org within ninety (90) days of the transaction.

Tax Status

Conservation Centers for Species Survival is a 501(c)(3) public charity organized under the laws of the State of Texas. Contributions to C2S2 are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. C2S2's federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 47-2453835. A copy of C2S2's most recent financial report is available upon request.
